A Poem Focused on Human Trafficking
SUNFLOWERS IN THE DARK
Written by Meg Nezaj (c)2016
Crippled hearts cry silent tears
Dare not be discovered
Freedom sought by mind
Not found, physically confined
Sunflowers in the dark
stems cut off by razor hands
Petals spread along the ground
So culprits walk a pretty life
Victims sold and led astray
Living horror day after day
Yet this could be worse
Your own child or friend
Weary lips murmour:
I feel worn out no time to sleep
I`m so sacred what happens next
Death more likely than freedom
Sunflowers in the dark
Stems out off by razor hands
Petals spread along the ground
So culprits walk a pretty life
Eternal love above send your army
To eradicate these devious crimes
Set captives free, restore diginity
Give them a life to sing to victory!
